Let Her Be Fierce, Not Just Sweet

I started Fierce and Sweet after learning that in kid's films, predators are overwhelmingly male and prey overwhelmingly female, a pattern that quietly teaches girls to see themselves as something to be hunted, not something powerful. It teaches boys that they have to hunt, not nurture. My granddaughter deserves better than that. My grandnephews deserve better. I design shirts, onesies, and hoodies for parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who see kids as whole people, capable of being fierce and sweet at once, not boxed into one or the other.

What I Believe

A little girl can be fierce and sweet in the same breath. She doesn't need to choose. My granddaughter deserves shirts, onesies, and hoodies that tell her she's capable, not just cute. Conversely, little boys, like my grandnephews, love all things cute and cuddly and delight in finding something that speaks to them. Every kid deserves that same permission.
