FAQs

Is Fierce & Sweet a gender neutral kids clothing brand? Yes. Fierce & Sweet designs illustrated animal apparel for kids without assigning animals by gender — lions, sharks, and tigers are marketed the same way as bunnies, deer, and butterflies, and any design is available for any kid.

What ages does Fierce & Sweet make clothes for? Sizes from 6 months to youth XL, covering infants through kids up to about age 10.

What products does Fierce & Sweet sell? Short-sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts featuring original illustrated animal designs, each paired with a short tagline.

Why does Fierce & Sweet avoid "boy" and "girl" sections? A 2025 study published in the journal Social Development found that predator animals in kids' media are disproportionately portrayed as male and prey animals as female, even though this pattern has no basis in actual animal biology. Fierce & Sweet was founded to offer an alternative — animal designs presented without a gender label attached.

Are Fierce & Sweet shirts unisex? Yes. Every design is sized and marketed the same way regardless of the child wearing it.

Where are Fierce & Sweet products made? Designed in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and printed on demand through US-based print partners.

Is Fierce & Sweet part of a larger company? Fierce & Sweet is a brand by Dakota Coast Designs, a woman-owned company. We make these for our own kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, and all the littles in our lives — and yours.
