Before & After: How Fierce & Sweet Found Its Purpose

Before

I used to just notice things and move on. I'd watch a movie with my granddaughter, catch that the wolf, the shark, the villain was always "he" and the one running scared was always "she," and I'd shrug it off as just how stories are told. I didn’t have a plan to respond. I just had a nagging feeling that stuck around longer than it should have.

After

Now that nagging feeling has a name, a  website, and shirts, onesies, and hoodies. Fierce & Sweet exists because I decided that noticing wasn't enough. I wanted parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles to have something they could put on a kid that said the opposite of "prey."

What Actually Changed

The real shift wasn't inspiration, it was a decision: my granddaughter deserved better than a pattern she'd absorb without ever choosing it. I stopped treating the observation as trivia and started treating it as a design brief. Every piece I make now exists to remind a kid (and the adults who dress them) that fierce and sweet were never opposites to begin with.
