Why would I name my kids clothing store "Fierce & Sweet"?
Fierce & Sweet, Defined
Fierce & Sweet is the belief that a child can be bold and gentle, strong and tender, all at once, never boxed into being just one or the other.
Why This Term Matters
I started this brand after learning that in kids' films, predators are overwhelmingly male and prey overwhelmingly female. This is a pattern that quietly teaches girls to see themselves as something to be hunted, not something powerful. Without language for this, we default to the old boxes: sweet or fierce, prey or predator. My granddaughter deserves better than that, and so does every kid who wears these designs.
How I Use It
Every shirt, onesie, and hoodie I design starts with one question: does this let her be both? If the answer is no, I redesign it until it is. And it’s not just for girls. I want my grandnephews to show the sweetness that they love too. Those images are coming soon!
