5 Frequently Asked Questions About Fierce & Sweet Kids Apparel

These are the questions I hear most, including several that came up after Let Her Be Fierce, Not Just Sweet: Kids Apparel.

Q: What inspired you to start Fierce & Sweet?

It started when I noticed a pattern in how kids' clothing gets marketed: predator animals — lions, sharks, tigers — are almost always sold to boys, while girls get steered toward smaller, gentler creatures. That quietly teaches kids what's "allowed" for them before they're old enough to question it. My granddaughter deserves better than that, and so does every kid wearing our shirts.

Q: Are your designs actually made with AI?

Yes, I start with AI-assisted design tools as part of my creative process, but every design goes through my own manual edits and my eye for what feels honest and true to a child's spirit. The technology helps me move fast; the message is entirely human.

Q: Who is this gender-neutral kids apparel really for?

Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles who see kids as whole people. If you believe a child can be fierce and sweet at the same time, without being boxed into one or the other, you're exactly who we design for.

Q:  What products do you offer, and in what sizes?

We currently make toddler and infant t-shirts, long-sleeve tees, hoodies, and onesies. Each piece is designed to hold up to real childhood — the climbing, the spilling, the running — while carrying a message that sticks.

Q: How is Fierce & Sweet different from other "girl power" brands?

We're not just slapping a slogan on a shirt. Every design comes from a specific observation about how kids' products get gendered, and every piece is meant to counter one small part of that pattern. It's personal, not just trendy. And, I design for boys as well.
