New to Fierce & Sweet? Here's How to Get Started
Share
If you're new here and not sure where to start, this isn't the philosophy, you've probably already seen that. This is the practical part: how to actually pick your first piece.
Step 1: Match the Animal to the Kid, Not the Gender
Start with what the kid actually loves, not what's "supposed" to go with them. A reptile-obsessed toddler gets the alligator or snake, regardless of whether that toddler is a boy or a girl. A kid who lights up at sharks gets the shark tee. The whole point of the catalog is that nothing is pre-assigned. The only real filter is the animal the kid is already drawn to.
Step 2: Pick the Right Size and Garment
Sizing runs from infant through toddler, and garment type matters more than most people expect:
- Infant Tee — infant sizes, the lightest option
- Toddler Tee — the most popular starting point for most families
- Long Sleeve Shirt — infant and toddler sizing, good for cooler months
- Onesie — infant sizing, easiest for the diaper-changing stage
- Hoodie — toddler sizing, the warmest and most durable piece
If you're between sizes or shopping for a fast-growing kid, sizing up slightly is usually the safer call — a shirt with a little extra room gets more wear than one that's already tight.
Step 3: Start With One, Then Build the Wardrobe
You don't need to commit to a whole collection on the first order. Pick one critter that matches the kid, see how it fits and how it wears, and go from there. A lot of families end up building out a few critters over time — one for a birthday, one as a gift from a grandparent, one just because a new collection dropped. There's no wrong order to do it in.
